It was the night before Christmas, and one could find British pop star Robbie Williams lending a helping hand at a shelter in Los Angeles. Robbie began a flurry of charitable acts that began on Christmas Eve and continued on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, in which he served food and performed carols for the Union Rescue Mission, America's largest soup kitchen, situated in the infamous 'Skid Row' area of the city. "Robbie does an awful lot of charity work," said chef Raymond Terry, who first took Robbie to the shelter. "This is really close to his heart. Everybody I've taken to Skid Row is moved to tears." Despite the average homeless person at the shelter not knowing who Robbie was, there was a lot of excitement generated from the buzz that he was a big pop star in Europe.
