When Robbie Williams was introduced to Chris Briggs, Chris was working in EMI's Artists and Repertoire (A&R) division. A&R is responsible for talent scouting and overseeing the artistic development of artists and songwriters.
Chris was responsible for introducing Robbie to Guy Chambers. Robbie has since trusted Chris' opinion above anyone else in the business.
In 2010, Chris left EMI to join RCA, a subdivision of Sony. Despite his new role at Sony, while Robbie joined Universal, Chris Briggs continued to advise Robbie on his artistic choices. In 2016, Chris played a decisive role for Robbie's new contract with Sony Music.
